BlueMail Privacy

BlueMail Privacy Policy

Blue Mail is a mobile application and cloud service made with love by Blue Mail, Inc. (“Blue”,“Blue Mail”,“we” or “our”). Blue Mail helps you manage your email, and in order to provide you with that service, we need to collect, store, and in rare cases, share your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we do that. Terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given them in our Terms of Service.

Information Collection and Use

When using Blue Mail, you agree to our collection, transfer, processing, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described here. If you have any questions or comments about our policy, you can contact us at privacy@bluemail.me.

What sort of information do we collect?

Information you provide us

We ask for certain personal information when you register for Blue Mail (either in the app or on our website) or if you correspond with us, like your first and last name, e-mail address or phone number. If you input your phone number to receive information from us, you understand that standard SMS rates apply. If you email us, we may keep your message and contact information so we can respond to your request. We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you with Blue Mail’s features and functionality.

Email

Blue Mail is designed to help you manage your email account with other providers, like Gmail. When you link your email accounts (provided by third parties) to Blue Mail, you give Blue Mail permission to securely access your information contained in or associated with those accounts. If you link your third party account to Blue Mail, that third party may also pass certain information along about your use of its service. While Blue Mail usually does not store your password to these email accounts, the service may securely store some emails on a temporary basis in order to deliver them to you as quickly as possible and keep track of your deferred messages.

Push Notifications

Blue Mail sends push notifications to your mobile device when it has an update and when you have a new message. You may turn these off at the device level by following the instructions on your device, but please be aware that if you do, you will not receive any future alerts.

Email Contacts

Blue Mail provides the ability to interface with your phone’s contact list (e-mail addresses and names) in order to add email recipients easily and securely. You might be prompted for permission within the app before Blue Mail can access your contacts. We will not use this information for any purpose other than to provide the Blue Mail service to you.

Local storage

Blue Mail stores information locally on your device, like your most recent emails, snoozed emails, recently archived emails and emails you’ve put in lists.

Customer Testimonials

We obtain customer testimonials on our web site from public sources, which may contain personally identifiable information. To request removal of your personal information, contact us at privacy@bluemail.me.

Social Media

The Blue Mail website includes links to third party social media sites like Twitter. These links may collect your IP address and may set a cookie to enable the social media feature to function properly. These features are hosted by a third party and your interactions are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them. We have no control over the privacy practices of any third party social media sites.

Communications

We may use the information we collect or receive to communicate with you directly. For example, you may receive emails from us containing company updates, promotions, marketing, or special offers. We may also keep track of how you interact with links in these messages. We do this to be sure our communications and our products get better over time. If you’d rather not receive these emails, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of each communication or by emailing us at privacy@bluemail.me. We also use your information to send you Blue Mail-related emails (e.g., account verification, changes/updates to features, technical and security notices) – these Blue Mail-related communications are important, so you cannot opt out.

Geo-Location Information

Photos you take or attach in Blue Mail may contain recorded location information. If you’d rather not have location data associated with your photos, please consult the documentation for your mobile device’s camera feature to disable it. Some of the information Blue Mail uses to communicate with your device – like its IP address – can be used to approximate the device’s location. This information may be used to administer, analyze and improve Blue Mail. If you’d rather not have Blue Mail use your information for these purposes, please contact us at privacy@bluemail.me.

Analytics for Web and Mobile

This file stores data about your device’s hardware, operating system or other software and data sent by Blue Mail, and conveys information about how Blue Mail is used. This device identifier may persist on your device to help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through Blue Mail. Some features of Blue Mail may not function properly if this device identifier is impaired or disabled.
