Home » Why I Started Using BlueMail and You Should Too
With a nearly perfect Google Play Store rating of 4.7 with 100k+ reviews and its highly customizable feel and exclusive look, BlueMail for Android and iOS hits the mark by being the most intuitive and easily accessible option on the market.
As we’ve come to anticipate from a flagship email application, users are able to completely redesign and customize the app to their liking. And with many apps supporting Yahoo, Gmail and Microsoft accounts, BlueMail sets the bar even higher by supporting virtually every account type from POP and IMAP, to even more unique Microsoft Exchange protocols. In addition to the stunning aesthetics and nearly infinite customization options, BlueMail delivers a true Push email experience reminiscent of the beloved BlackBerry Messaging days.
Let’s explore in more detail what makes this critically acclaimed email app deserve a place on your Android or iOS device. Easily enough, the first step is to download BlueMail from your Android or iOS app store. Certainly a welcome change to most users, BlueMail is free for download and does not require any subscriptions to unlock special features.
After the installation is complete, BlueMail prompts us to setup our first account and right away recognizes the Gmail account I have setup on my phone which helps to streamline the setup process.
While historically an overlooked feature, being able to setup an email account in under a few seconds is the kind of attention to detail that sets this powerful email app apart from some of the other competitors out there. Perhaps the longest part of the procedure is simply deciding what I would like to name the account.
Once we get an account set up, we can really begin to dig into all of the features and thoroughly explore the all of the various UI elements. Immediately, we get a chance to see, what in my opinion, is possibly the most innovative feature BlueMail has to offer and that is, Clusters.
Admittedly Clusters requires some degree of getting used to, but like all pioneering discoveries once learned, it’s almost impossible to work without it. They basically work by taking together all of your emails from a sender and put them into a slot on your inbox in order of when they were received. Perhaps the best analogy would be that of a book on a bookshelf. Wherein a book is a cluster and the containing pages are your emails.
BlueMail could have easily cornered the email app market with Clusters alone, but the developers seem addicted to the near perfection of their craft which is evident by all of the well-polished features.
Perusing around the inbox view, we take note of an inconspicuous switch in the upper right-hand corner. When tapped, this switch hides all the emails from services in our inbox and leaves behind the emails specifically from people. The change happens instantly and doesn’t require any strange forwarding rules which we have come to expect from similar apps in the Google Play Store and really exemplifies the ready-to-go powerhouse feel we get from the app.
Working our way down the inbox view, the impressive swipe down menu is the next unique feature on the long list of things we really love about BlueMail. The near obsession the designers have about keeping the email list view clean is apparent with the advent of the account picker which allows a seamless transition from one account to the other.
With many apps, you have a choice. either functionality on the tips of your fingers, leaving behind simplicity, or an extremely clean design while lacking the power which users expect. BlueMail systemically synthesized the demand for a refined user experience with the raw customizable power everyday email users require. The hard work clearly payed off, because boy does BlueMail look good.
